Spring is already here and most of us have started cleaning and refreshing their properties ready for the summer. Some of us might be facing complete apartment cleaning because they are at the end of their tenancy agreement. Whatever your case is, you should know that there are eco-friendly ways to make your home fresh and sparkly again.

Have you ever thought about how dangerous can the cleaning products we use on daily basis be? Some of them can even cause bad allergies on our skin. Eco-friendly cleaning can save you money and can prevent any allergies from occurring.

How to Get Rid of the Mold In the Shower

Every single one of us has faced the mould issue at least once in our lives. It always finds its ways to grow, especially in hot, humid places such as our bathrooms. Don’t worry, it happens to all of us, no matter how much we are obsessed with cleaning and maintaining. The mould in the shower is one hell of a devil, but you can quickly get rid of. You should do it as soon as you see it because it spreads fast and with time it becomes harder to remove it.

Curtains

Cleaning the curtains is a must because they usually collect a lot of dust particles and need to be washed often so you prevent any dust from accumulating on them. Washing your curtains too often can make them age quickly and look old. The reason behind that is the washing powder that stays in the fabric. The curtains need to be washed with a small amount of washing liquid and if they are extremely dirty, they need to be soaked beforehand. Don’t use any softener when washing your curtains. If you want to make sure you have removed all of the washing powder, you will need to rinse twice.

Dry “washing” the carpet

The first step is to hoover the carpet. Sprinkle a lot of baking soda all over it and use your hands to make sure the whole carpet is fully covered. Leave it like this overnight. In the morning hoover again and you will be pleasantly surprised – the carpet will be clean and refreshed because the soda can remove any smells.

Windows

Using a mixture of water and vinegar is the easiest, fastest and most effective method for cleaning your windows. The vinegar will successfully remove any grime and leave the windows sparkly. If your windows are fairly clean, you can use water and dry them with microfiber cloth or water and then dry with newspaper. However, if you have used synthetic products in order to fight the dirty windows, you may need to use water and vinegar a couple of times before you really see the true effect. You will also notice that your windows will accumulate dirt very rarely once treated with this mixture. Another great product is made of water, essential oil and a bit of washing up liquid.

Eco-friendly method for cleaning your oven

When cleaning your oven, you need to be careful and avoid using products containing caustic soda, harmful dissolvers, and other poisonous ingredients. Unfortunately, these ingredients can cause serious harm to our health as they cannot be removed from the oven and when they evaporate, they can get to the food that is cooked. In order to clean your oven in the safest possible way, you will need to do it once a week at least and use warm water with baking soda, or white vinegar, or lemon.

Fridge

The fridge is another place where food gets stored. That is why it is very important to clean it with natural products and homemade cleaning solutions rather than using harmful chemicals. The fridge can be easily cleaned with baking soda or vinegar and then wiped all over with clean water. If you don’t want your fridge to smell of all the different foods, you can put some baking soda on a plate and leave it in the fridge. It will last for 3 months.

As you can see there are simple and safe to use products that can keep your house spotlessly clean and free of unnecessary harmful chemicals. Try and clean your home the eco-friendly way for a healthier lifestyle.
